New In The News: Regime Loses House - Senate Divided - Fireworks-Baghdad sweeps - US pulls in more forces to Irak- Reporters kidnapped - Mil-blogs shut down - FBI: number one terror threat is animal rights advocates.

H e sang the same song and played the same variety show: a crack-down on the Irakis, some token court-martials of buck privates, declarations of near victory and even purported to condemn the enemy ruler Sadam Hussein to death, but the voters cast out the Republican majority in the House; the Senate hangs on a tenderhook.

The defections from Republican ranks was most pronounced in the Republican satraps in the Eastern suburbs where Republican candidates for the House handed in dismal performances, in one race garnering less than 5 % of the ballots.

Edward L Sommersett, President of The Society opined "we don't expect much change in the Bushist foreign policy. Likely the Democrats will address domestic concerns: restoring minimum wage legislation, increasing federal income taxes to pay for the huge war debt expanding at a rate of one quarter billion per day, and providing for the casualties of the war, ignored by The Regime."

Concentrating its campaign efforts on Colorodo and the Western states where propositions were on the ballot to ban gay marriage, The Regime suffered a crippling embarrassment when the leader of the fight against blessing gay unions Reverend Ted Haggard of The New Life Church was found to be a regular patron of a gay prostitute.

The good minister, father of five daughters, flip flopped on the charge but came to admit having visited the pro for message theraphy only of course and having bought mescaline. "It's a good thing," Jack Acies, FP's crime reporter noted, "the good Reverend Ted Haggard didn't claim to have smoked but not inhaled."

Meanwhile despite enthusiastic proclamations in Irak, the news from the front remained gloomy.

As the CiC of the British Army conceeded that the war in Irak was lost and the better course was to withdraw, the Arabs commenced the Ramadan offensive, blowing up a US supply dump and setting off a sparkling fireworks display for the Islamic holiday.

Observers believed the Arabs delivered a symbolic victory, reminiscent of Francis Marion's Fourth of July raid commemorated in "The Patriot."

According to the RPPS Commandant Sir Harry, though the US leadership knows so little of US culture that the heavy indulgence on US symbolism of the Arab opposing forces since 11 September 2001 has been lost on the US, "it isn't a question that the US doesn't know when it's been beat. They don't know when they've been made fun of."

In response, the US pulled in its remaining troops from Afghanistan and the US for a street brawl. According to a report in the semi-official organ of the US Establishment The Times of New York, one understrength US based unit re - embarking for Irak lacked any equipment having abandoned it on withdrawing from Irak. The unit trained on video games for lack of equipment.

In the battle for Baghdad, Arabs have taken to kidnapping American marines tourching off a massive search operation. While the Quisling PM was permitted to voice token opposition, no reports appeared of massive retaliation against Iraki civilians.

"There is only one way," said Sir Harry, "to put an end to this sort of thing known well in frontier days. It does require slightly more effort than throwing your hands in the air and declaring victory."

At home in the continuing variety show, court martial charges were leveled against US marines who organized a punishment party. In the continuing melodrama, these court martials make the Liberals to feel morally superior, just as melodramatic declarations of victory make armchair patriots beam with pride and the bad news from the front gives the Evangelicals cause to pray for Christ's return to lead the forces of righteousness.

US people simply lack the stuffing, though they do want to continue enjoying a disproportinate share of the earth's resources.

Meanwhile with the BBC forecasting a Democratic rout at the polls, US companies quietly withdraw from Irak, having collected their loot and having completed little of the rebuilding which they promised to do. At home, the regime forced down gas prices. A steady stream of gas guzzling SUVs flooded service centers as many of the wasteful bohemths were pulled out of mothballs to take advantage of lower prices. A BBC report claimed US people use three times the food and other resources than people in other first world countries.

The regime suffered an unexpected setback when Bob Woodward without advance notice published an extremely critical account of the Bush White House describing Bush as ranting and raving at Generals bringing in devastating news from the front and directing to hear more Iraki casualties.

A government sponsored survey by John Hopkins claimed that over 600,000 Irakis have been killed since Bush declared victory aboard the USS Kennedy. The Bush cabinet announded that it doubted it killed that many. A quisling boasted of personal responsibility for at least 10,000 of the casualties or 1.7% of the overall losses.

According to Professor Teach, an educational magazine reports that Evangelical children were photographed bowing to a cardboard image of The Bush.

Casualty statistics were released for the first time in six months as the regime announced that they stand at over 2800.

After some flip flopping over staying the course, Bush decided to set milestones toward a prospective withdrawal in 2008, but without an announced exit date. An exit date would give the Arabs the patience to hold off their attacks until the US is gone.

"How can you say you're staying the course," asked General Powell, "when you don't know where the finish line is?"

BBC broadcast staged scenes of ARC visits to Gitmo. Not long later Vice President Dick Cheney advised the US to use water torture on prisoners.

As the regime continued to saber wave at North Korea and Iran, ther was the usual comedy in the midst of tragedy. The FBI declared Animal Rights Advocates domestic terror enemy number one. Unable to penetrate the closely knit Arab cabals, FBI has turned with a vengeance on a soft target. "After all," an FBI agent said, "they aren't going to pull a gun or strap dynamite to themselves, they surrender peaceful and they don't just confess, they brag."
